Surely I can find a way of converting from Word to PDF that does a good job. I'll keep my eyes open and ask questions.
Creating a PDF from a Word document is done by using Save As ... and creating a PDF file. I have to be lucky to get the fonts right. Then I go into PDF Fusion and create a single page PDF exported as a PNG file. Then I go into Corel Draw and simply open he PNG page. I can then export it as a JPEG.
The hard part is going from Word to PDF. I can get screwed during the conversion.
Using PowerPoint is out of the question.
Maybe I can cut and paste a Word page into OneNote and then save it as a PDF file. I'm still not sure it won't screw up the fonts, but this is something to try if the othe things don't work.
In order to view a document as opposed to downloading it: put the document into Google Drive, click on the file name and click on the link icon at the top of the page and get a sharable link. Then cut and paste the link into a button on the web site.
My resume is done this way.
Include my transcripts and my pictures that I drew of dad and Doctor Doom. Take pictues of things I value the most.

Cropping should be done in Corel-PHOTO-PAINT instead of in Wix for easier placement of the bounding box and better resolution.
In the body of the home page, I can populate it with lots of links to pages with headers and footers. The 5 pages in the menu in the header won't have a header or footer but will only contain a button to return to the home page.

A LaTeX file with hyperlinks is a valuable way of putting a discussion of papers I read with links to them and I can include questions with an email form embedded on the site inviting people to send answers.
The +Add tool contains an entry called Lists. I can put in lists of papers I read and papers I write.
In order to link to a word document, go into Google Drive and display the document using "Open with Google Docs" then create a Public Sharable Link.
I am going to scan and include my actual diplomas and put my transcripts here.
